We take many insurance plans and methods of funding. As of January 2025, insurance s are billed at $165 per hour but we accept what the insurance will pay plus the client’s co-pay. If you do not have insurance or do not want the insurance to be billed our cash discount is $140.00 per hour. Co-payments or self-payments are due at the time of service.
Typically, sessions last 55 to 60 minutes.
In the first session you and the Therapist/Coach will discuss together the challenges you may need some assistance with. Once we have assessed what the challenges are and feel that we can work together, we will establish some goals that you would like to work on during our time together. We will discuss your roll and the Therapist/Coach’s roll and give a few tips to get started. Subsequent sessions will focus on providing skills and support to help you work to manage your challenges more successfully. The Therapist/Coach will be your advocate, cheerleader, support system, coach, and help you hold yourself accountable for your growth and progress.
Potential clients can call the office at 801-367-7505 to make an appointment for a session time that works for you. If someone is not able to answer the phone right away, leave a voice mail and you will be called back within a day.
Yes, we use zoom as a platform for telehealth. Where possible, we prefer the first session be in person but subsequent sessions can be by telehealth. If an initial first in person session is not possible, it can all be done by telehealth.
In the event that you need to cancel an appointment, you are encouraged to call the office with in 24 hours of your appointment time to cancel and re-schedule. Where this is not possible and you cannot give a 24-hour notice or you do not show up for an appointment, a no-show fee may be assessed. In cases where there is an urgent or emergent reason for the late cancelation or no show, some flexibility on the no show fee may be considered.
At Lighthouse Counseling, we primarily use a variety of Trauma Informed Care methods as well as several evidenced based treatments. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is often used for many challenges and situations. In addition, we also use Emotion Focused Therapy ( EFT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Brief Therapy to list a few.
Please come prepared to fill out paper work. Please bring your insurance cards or, if someone is assisting you in paying for your bill such as a parent or religious leader, bring their contact information. Also, please come prepared to discuss with the Therapist/Coach what your concerns are and what goals you would like assistance working on.
